I don't think 6L was all white like shown in these drawings, and I know it's not 7L. I'm fairly sure it's 6L, but I'd like to have some confirmation.

It's definitely not 3L, 5L, or 7L (and it's on the wrong pad to be N1M), so this has to be 6L.

That diagram of mine is out of date, and not correct. I am working on a complete rebuild of the web site and galleries, but the N-1 book is a higher priority!
(While I am here, if anyone has links to images in my N-1 galleries oin starbase1, you might want to take a copy of the images, as the file names will change and/or move soon.)
Identifying the various N-1 variants:
N1-3L. Dark first and second stages, easy!
N-7L. Completely white, streamlined fuel line covers, white grid fin frames, easy.
That leaves the 5L and 6L. Both have a dark sector on the first and second stages, on top while on the transporter, facing the tower when upright. The 5L had a 90 degree dark sector, the 6L a 120 degree dark sector. Note that for the 5L the edges of the dark sector go directly under the grid fins.
The 6L also has the fire extinguisher system up the first stage fuel line covers. (Clearly missing in photo labeled as 5L). Note that the lower ends of the narrow fuel covers on the 5L are open, and extend lower thanthe wider ones.

Now that is interesting. From the first image I thought maybe a shadow, but it clearly runs directly under the lattice fin. And the colour of the interestage rods is unaffected, but it picks up on the other side.
From the way it goes along the wider skirt at the base, it does look very much like it's zero thickness. But if it's painted, why does it not appear on other photos after the rocket has left the factory building?

На видео сплошная солянка из пусков всех ракет, но только не тех, к пускам которых указаны даты. :wink: Владимир Антипов, испытатель из последнего фильма, вроде не соврал. :D
