SIHLA would use an innovative technique to map the entire sky to determine the shape and underlying mechanisms of the boundary between the heliosphere, the area of our Sun's magnetic influence, and the interstellar medium, a boundary known as the heliopause.

Старт ракеты должен был состояться в 9.45 по времени Восточного побережья США (17.45 мск), однако приблизительно за две минуты до старта была дана команда о его отмене. Как сообщила компания, это произошло из-за нештатного показателя второй ступени Falcon 9.
Поскольку стартовое окно позволяло, специалисты надеялись выяснить и ликвидировать возникшую проблему, но по истечении полутора часов приняли решение отменить запуск, планируется, что новая попытка состоится в пятницу. "Отменяем на сегодня запуск NROL-108, чтобы специалисты могли внимательнее изучить данные. Falcon 9 и NROL-108 в хорошем состоянии. Специалисты работают над тем, чтобы использовать резервное окно запуска, которое открывается завтра в 9.00 (17.00 мск)", - сообщила SpaceX в Twitter.

SpaceX выполняет запуски для военной космической разведки США по контракту с Пентагоном. Нынешний старт должен стать пятым полетом для многоразовой первой ступени Falcon 9.
