The old BCDU, S/N 011, was removed from the P6 truss at 1452 UTC.

And the new Battery Charge/Discharge Unit (BCDU) is soft-docked.  Moving on the tightening the bolts to secure it in place!

At 1501 UTC, the new BCDU 0028 is in its new slot on the P6 truss

Both bolts are secured.  The new Battery Charge/Discharge Unit is installed!  Looks like everything is proceeding right on the planned timeline.

EVA-58: Koch and Meir have successfully installed the replacement battery charge-dischare unit in the P6 equipment bay; the two are now moving the faulty BCDU back to the Quest airlock for eventual return to Earth

Ground teams report the new Battery Charge/Discharge Unit is functioning as expected.  It will be several more hours before full functionality confirmation is obtained.

EVA-58: Flight controllers have carried out a health check and the new BCDU appears to be responding normally, but it will take several hours to verify power channel 2B is working normally with all three of its lithium-ion batteries on line

EVA-58: Meir, right, and Koch, far left with failed BCDU, have reached the Quest airlock; the BCDU will be placed inside for eventual return to Earth; with that task complete, the astronauts will press ahead with a few "get-ahead" tasks
